A photo of Alexis Goldstein in front of the U.S. Capitol building, wearing a black shirt with a red heart that reads 'Save the CFPB' inside the heart. She is holding a microphone in her hand, and to her left is a sign that reads 'PAWA to the People' Alexis was born and raised in Maryland to two amazing parents who taught her to love books and stand up to bullies.

After Donald Trump won the presidency in 2024, Alexis watched public servants and their agencies come under immediate attack, including the financial regulator she worked at, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Elon Musk tweeted "RIP CFPB" in February 2025 — but thanks to a broad coalition that includes the CFPB Union, one year later, the CFPB is still alive. Alexis was fired in February 2026 trying to do her job: protecting the sensitive data of Americans from DOGE.

Undeterred, she decided to run for Congress.

Alexis is inspired each day by Marylanders showing enormous bravery, defending their neighbors and communities. She believes Maryland's 6th district deserves a Representative who knows that the way you stand up to a bully isn't to cave; it's to say "no!"

Alexis has been published widely, including in The New York Times, was featured on The Daily Show, PBS Frontline’s Money, Power, and Wall Street documentary and Netflix's Eat the Rich: The Gamestop Saga, and once made Jay Z laugh on live television.
